I never knew you

Michael Jones

I never knew you
I thought I did
Deep calls to deep
In my heart, not my head

The rushing water of us
Is now but just a stream
We float away, the distance grows
Was it only just a dream?

The deep waters of us
Never touching, never blending
The horrible sense of loss
Always here, never ending

Love is a relationship
Love is a risk
Two hearts wide open
They will blend, they will kiss

Your silhouette is fluid
Your shape now shifts and moves
Everything is over
And I realize
I never knew you.
