Broken Loser

by | May 10, 2019

Michael Jones

I’ve been a broken loser
I won’t deny the truth
My life flashed before my eyes
To days of tender youth

This isn’t who I always was
I once was good and true
Now rain pours in unhindered
There’s no shelter, there’s no roof

The damage that I’ve done
It is horrible. It is true.
The wicked pain I’ve caused
Can’t be the only proof

Of the man I was, the man I am
The man I want to be
May wicked lies be far from me
To live now true and free

Build back the ancient fortress
Where kings ruled good and true
May the broken be made whole
May the loser be renewed.
